Tom Selleck-2Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from America. His breakout role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in Magnum. He was nominated for five Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor In a Drama Series (1980-1988), and won the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 to 2010 Selleck has played the role of New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Beginning in 2005 his role was as troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has been seen in over 50 films and TV shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a recurring TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the attractive, unassuming lover, in The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner. He also played the character in the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
